Position Description:

The VA Training & Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building Young Invincibles’ strategy in Virginia and executing key consumer education programs, specifically focused on health care enrollment, outreach, and education. The VA Training & Outreach Coordinator will conduct extensive outreach to community organizations, college campuses, and other young adult-serving organizations to educate young adults (18-34 years old) about health insurance, and connect the uninsured to critical resources.  The position will be based in our DC office, and will focus on Northern Virginia, specifically greater Prince William County. The ideal candidate has comfort working with diverse populations, is an excellent communicator, and has experience in organizing or facilitation. This position is full time, and will run through July 2019 with the potential for extension.

Supervisor: National Training & Consumer Education Manager

Specific duties include:

  • Assisting consumer education team in the implementation and management of YI’s consumer education campaigns related to health care, higher education, and workforce
  • Overseeing logistics and planning details of all events within northern Virginia
  • Coordinating and maintaining key partnerships
  • Presenting and facilitating trainings and workshops
  • Recruiting participation and turnout for events and trainings
  • Managing follow-up and continued relationships with state partners
  • Communicating and synthesizing complex material into a consumer-friendly format
  • Administrative duties such as tracking and importing data, completing debrief reports and follow up surveys with young adults
  • Elevate young adult voices through story collection, consumer education, and training

The following are a plus but not requirements:

  • Experience with outreach and facilitation
  • Experience with facilitating presentations, group discussions, and trainings
  • Experience working in a direct service environment
  • Experience working in and knowledge of northern Virginia
